Ramakrishna Mission Beach

Ramakrishna Beach, is located on the east coast of the Bay of Bengal in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The Ramakrishna Beach of Visakhapatnam which is also known as RK Beach. 

The beach is located only a 7 km drive from the Railway Station. RK Beach gets its name from the Ramakrishna Mission ashram near the beach.

Several boats and ships are operating on one side of the shore, and one can go for a ride in a traditional fishing boat arranged by the fishers or take a local cruise to enjoy the beautiful view of the sunset.

Major attractions of RK Beach

Matsya Darshini (Aquarium): the old submarine parked which forms a standing museum known as INS KURUSURA Submarine Museum which preserves the Kalvari Class Submarine. One can also enjoy a camel ride on the sands of the beach.

Visakha Utsav: VUDA organizes an annual cultural event and tourist festival which adds charm to the beach which is conducted at the end of the year.

Kali Mandir: It is a temple of Goddess Durga which was made by Mr. Dayanand Banerjee in 1984. Kali Mandir later went on to have other deities namely Lord Shiva, Hanuman, Vinayak & Nagendra Swamy.

Navy week: R K Beach has a peak footfall during the Navy week where once a year an event is conducted with the Indian Navy performing acrobatics and other stunts, exercises related to Navy Rescue Operations which becomes a rave to talk about. Eastern Naval Command guards & protects the coastline falling on the lines of R K Beach road.
