Life of Virendra Sehwag
Since his childhood Sehwag was interested in playing cricket. He always dreamt of becoming a cricketer which came true when he made his debut for Delhi cricket team in first class cricket in the 1997–98 season and thereafter the cricketer never looked back.
Sehwag made a successful cricket player and made many records. He is married to Aarti Ahlawat and the couple has two sons.

Virender Sehwag is an extraordinary cricketer of India. He has many records to his name. It is always a matter of pleasure for his cricket fans to see the great cricketer play on field. Sehwag is one of the highest Test run scorers at a faster pace than anyone in the history of cricket.Sehwag made his debut for Delhi cricket team in first class cricket in the 1997–98 season. He made his ODI debut in 1999 and Test debut in 2001. He played his first One Day International cricket in 1999.
He joined the Indian Test team in 2001. In 2005 Sehwag was appointed as vice-captain of the Indian team under Rahul Dravid.
Sehwag holds multiple records. He has made the highest score in Test cricket (319). This score was also the fastest triple century in the history of international cricket and the fastest 250 by any batsman.
Sehwag's other innings of 309 and 293 are also the second and third best by any Indian player. Sehwag is one of the batsmen in the world to have ever surpassed 300 twice in Test cricket. He is the only one to score two triple centuries, the fastest triple century, and take a five-wicket innings haul.
Sehwag is the second batsman after Sachin Tendulkar to smash the fastest century in ODI cricket. He has the highest individual score in history in an ODI match.
Sehwag retired from all forms of International cricket on 20 October 2015. Now, he is serving as the member of Anti Doping Appeal Panel of National Anti Doping Agency under Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India.
On 31 October 2017, Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) honoured Sehwag by naming Gate No.2 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium after him.
Awards and recognition of Sehwag
Virendra Sehwag received many awards and honours in recognition to his contribution to cricket. In April 2009 Sehwag became the only Indian to be honoured as the Wisden Leading Cricketer in the World for his performance in 2008.
Sehwag was the recipient of the Arjuna Award in 2002. In 2010 he was the ICC Test Player of the Year. Sehwag received the Padma Shree in 2010.
