Baga Beach

This beach is located in the Bardez Taluka of North Goa, which is situated about 9 kilometers from Mapusa and 16 kilometers from the capital city of Goa–Panaji. 

It comes under the jurisdiction of Calangute and is between Calangute Beach from the south and Anjuna Beach from the north.

Baga Beach

Baga Beach begins where Calangute Beach ends. The hippies discovered Baga Beach during the sixties. The beach was named after the Baga Creek, which empties into the Arabian Sea at the north end of the beach.

Water Sports

Parasailing, waterskiing, and windsurfing on the beach start in the afternoon when the wind is blowing just in the right direction, and it goes on till sunset. It’s easy enough to rent a motorcycle or scooter in Panaji and Mapusa.

How to get there

The nearest railway station to Baga Beach is Thivim railway station, is around 20 kilometers from the beach. A taxi from the railway station to the beach would roughly cost you around Rs. 500 one-way. 

YPu can also visit to Go's Dabolim Airport is about 50 kilometers from Baga Beach, and there is a pre-paid taxi from the airport to the beach.

Goa Beach

Crocodile and dolphin spotting tours

Backwater crocodiles and dolphins spotting down the Mandovi River to the Zuari River is a favorite pastime for travelers. The banks of these rivers are cover with forested with mangrove trees. 


Crocodiles inhabit the swamps in this area. At the open sea at the mouth of the Mandovi River, dolphins can be seen easily.


Shopping: Saturday Night Bazaar is one of the major tourist attractions over here. Other popular flea markets such as Wednesday Flea Market at Anjuna Beach and Saturday Night Market at Arpora have also been located just a few minute's walk from Baga Beach.
