Chorwad Beach

Chorwad Beach, Godhra was known to be the royal home place for the Nawab of Junagadh. The beach is located on the west coast of India. 

The word Chorwad means ‘Place of Thieves’, where “Chor” refers to a thief and “wad” in the village, and this place remains in a ruined state today. Chorwad Beach seafront on the Arabian Sea has a white, sandy beach.

Chorwad Beach: This serene spot is about 38 km from a tourist spot called Somnath. 


Palace of Nawab of Junagadh: This palace in the village is one of the prime architectures. The palace was build by the Nawabs of Junagadh. This place is known as a beautiful resort to reside in.


Other Attraction: The coastal area of Chorwad is quite rocky and undulating. This place is the best place for a nature lover. 

How to Reach

By Rail: This is the best option available to travel to Chorwad. The nearest railway station is located 20 km away from the village at Veraval.


By Road: Taxis and buses are available from Junagadh, Veraval, and other prominent places to Chorwad.

The best time to visit Chorwad Beach

You can visit this place anytime throughout the year. However, winter could be the ideal place to visit this place, which could be between October and March as summers are too hot. There were many attractive lakes present near the Chorwad beach like Hamirsar Lake, Kalyana Lake, Gowrishankar Lake, and many others.

This place is known to be the mixture of rich cultures from Saurashtra. To a certain extent from Portuguese emperors who have been influenced by Diu. This beach has been chosen by Gujarat State tourism to promote tourism along with other 14 beaches. The scenic and gorgeous, unspoiled beauty of this beach will be pleasurable and remembered.
